Ceremonies as Unique as the Stories They Celebrate
Every life has a story. And this is mine.
Hello, I'm Patricia
The Person Behind Tapestry Moments
I believe that every life has a story worth telling, and that the moments which matter most deserve to be remembered in a way that feels truly personal.
I'm Patricia Taylor-Shipley, an independent celebrant based in the
Isle of Axholme, serving families across the surrounding areas.
My journey to becoming a celebrant has been shaped by a lifetime
of experiences, both personally and professionally.

With a BSc in Psychology and an MSc dip in Business Psychology, alongside my background in public speaking and coaching, I've always been fascinated by people — their stories, their relationships and the experiences that shape who they become.
But some of life's most important lessons aren't learned in a classroom.
One of the most significant experiences of my life was losing Bill, my partner, when he was just 49 years old.
When someone who has been such an important part of your world is suddenly no longer there, life changes in ways you could never have imagined.
You don't simply lose the person you love. You lose the everyday moments you shared, the conversations you expected to have and the future you thought you would experience together.
I know what it feels like to face that kind of loss.
I also know how precious memories become, and how important it is to remember the person behind the sadness — their personality, their laughter, their little habits and everything that made them uniquely themselves.
That experience has stayed with me throughout my life.
And it has given me a deep appreciation of the importance of creating a farewell that doesn't simply mark the end of someone's life, but truly honours the life they lived.
Why Tapestry Moments?
For a long time I've thought of life as a tapestry.
Each experience, relationship and memory adds another thread to the story of who we are.
Some threads are bright with happiness, others are woven through more difficult times, but together they create something entirely unique.
That belief is at the heart of Tapestry Moments.
And while my own experiences of loss have shaped my understanding of the importance of a meaningful farewell, they have also deepened my appreciation of life's joyful milestones.
The happiness of two people choosing to share their future.
The excitement of welcoming a new life into a family.
And the importance of gathering together to celebrate the connections that make our lives meaningful.
Whether I'm helping a family honour someone they have lost, creating a wedding ceremony that reflects a couple's unique relationship or celebrating the arrival of a new family member, my approach is always the same.
I listen. I take the time to understand. And I create a ceremony that feels genuinely yours.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all ceremonies.
I believe in thoughtful words, meaningful details and moments that reflect the people at the heart of the occasion.
Above all, I want you to feel comfortable, supported and confident that your ceremony is in caring hands.
Because these moments matter.
And the stories behind them deserve to be told beautifully.
Every life has a story. Every moment has meaning.
